"The generator: Originally I was planning to buy a Honda, but after checking around, I started hearing about Yamaha. The consensus I heard was that you you get more for your money with Yamaha and performance is just as good. After using it a few times, I definitely agree. Tools Direct: They got it to me amazingly fast. The whole process was very smooth and I was informed of status along the way. This was my first purchase, but I'll be back. Plus the price was unbeatable."

"Better priced than the Honda counterpart, plus comes with wheels which is nice given how heavy generators of this size are.
Very quiet.
Very good price.
Great customer service."

"I bought this after extensively reviewing and hearing both the Honda and the Yamaha 3000kw inverter style generators, live. I required 2000+ kw so the 2000 models could not be considered. I needed it also to be quiet (that was primary after the 3000kw). In my opinion after hearing both, this was quieter than the Honda (though not by much). I needed it to be portable. Honda's did not have wheels and also charged extra for the dc cables. The Yamaha came with both wheels built in and the dc charging cables. And, this cost about $200 to $300 less (that's before you have to buy the wheel kit and the dc cables from Honda). I have only used it once to run my equipment which draws approximately 2200kw, and cycles on and off. I used it for 2 hours and it worked flawlessly, and was very quiet even at almost full draw. The econ switch seems to work well. I would strongly recommend this item if you are considering a 3000kw inverter generator. I am very impressed with this unit and I will try and update this periodically as I use it more throughout the Summer as it will get regular weekly use one day a week for 4 - 5 hours at a stretch. Sometimes twice a week. It was backordered so it took some time from Toolsdirect, but it arrived undamaged. Read the manual, fill the battery with electrolyte (included), fill it with oil, put in some gas and it started right up. I even love the color (really, who cares)."
